What is the Youth Summit? The Youth Summit is a one-day preconference that trains all participants in bill writing, parliamentary procedure, mock trial, and press corps.
Through hands-on, experiential learning, students learn:

  • Public policy through bill writing
  • Structured debate
  • Court proceedings
  • Journal writing and interview skills

Student delegates will participate in a mock bill debate, which gives them a better understanding of what takes place at the Legislative Weekend conference. They will also learn about leadership roles they can volunteer for and how to run for elected office!
